Privacy
I will make this very simple and non-legalese. I respect your privacy. I will not share your information with third parties. I do not have any newsletters that I send out. I promise not to spam you. I want you to connect with me on Twitter.
The website does some basic recording and registering. It leaves cookies to make your visit quicker next time, and it saves IP addresses for analytics and accountability.
Legal Disclaimer
This website is intended for casual enjoyment only! I am not a licensed financial adviser, I'm not a lawyer, I'm not a doctor, nor do I have a PhD in any of the subjects I write about here. I'm qualified by my experience in them, and at most these texts should be taken as an account of my experiences, and those results. Do not take my writings as professional advice on what you should do with your life and its affairs. Observe my insights, take the lessons available from them, and make your life decisions of your own accord!
Actual advice is a very personal matter that is greatly affected by individual and industry variables. At some point in time if you pay me for my advice, we can talk about liability!
Otherwise, know that by reading this material, and "using" this site, you consent to, and acknowledge the fact that this is for informational purposes only and not intended to be instruction. You agree that you won't sue me :)
Real Estate License Disclaimer
I was a licensed Real Estate Salesperson in New York State. I am not a practicing agent. None of my real estate insight is intended to be taken as a consultation or representation. I am only presenting insights into the industry. I am not representing you as an agent. I have no financial interests in any of the properties I talk about. This website is not intended to be real estate marketing material. Again, if you want to pay me for my professional advice, we can start talking about liability. If it in any way applies, I do adhere to Fair Housing, and Equal Opportunity laws.

Affiliate Programs / Financial Interests / FTC Disclosure
As a whole, This Blue Couch is a publishing platform of mine used to air my experiences and opinions. I am not writing solely for financial gain, I enjoy my creative outlet, I'm primarily a serial entrepreneur and not the so-called "webeneur." With any nominal amount of traffic to a website, though, there is the opportunity to leverage it to pay some bills.
I mention a TON of books on this site that I have read and enjoy. They are relevant to our conversations, and I link to their info page on Amazon via affiliate links. This does not bother me, it creates mutual value, and it should not bother you either. Also, I love, love, love the web publishing platform, Squarespace, that I use. I have used them for 7 years, they have been the face of three businesses I've started, and one charity effort, and I recommend them frequently to ANY entrepreneur I meet and talk with, and likewise anyone who needs a website. It was natural for me to join their affiliate program, and I did.
For the sake of covering all: Please assume that I get paid, or receive some form of consideration for any links or products I post on this blog. It is possible that those interests influence what I decide to publish, or not publish. In principle, there will be nothing on this site I wouldn't use myself, but I want it to be very clear that I might stand to gain something if you click through, or use a service I mention.
Here are a few disclaimer examples with special thanks to Louis Gray, and Jeannine Schafer, for making them available as Creative Commons.

Summary
I try to blend very straight forward language with legal requirements. Laws get specific though, and I will do what I need to do to comply. I like you. At the end of this, know that I respect your privacy, I treat you the same way I want to be treated, and this blog is principally to share experiences and enrich others' lives, but I make some income with it.
